Graduate Assistant for Developing On-line Special Education Post Master’s Course
Graduate Assistant Position: The Graduate Programs in Special Education (GPSE) is seeking to hire a Graduate Assistant (GA) to help convert post master’s graduate courses into distance learning formats. This appointment will take place in the Spring 2019 and Fall 2019 semesters. The role of the graduate assistant is to work as part of a team that includes the project faculty lead, member of the Queens College Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL), and individual course liaisons. The main purpose to the GA role is to provide technical supports that contribute to the development of online course content.
Specific Responsibilities:
· Meet regularly with Project Lead
· Meet regularly with members of CTL
· Meet regularly with course liaisons
· Development of online course content
o using Learning Management System (LMS) – Blackboard, Google Classroom
o using software – Adobe Captivate, Camtasia, Screen-casting, Google Docs, Microsoft Office
o ability to work synchronously and asynchronously with program faculty and CTL on specific content
Preferred Skills:
· Experience with online courses
· Experience with content development
· Experience with and/or knowledge of the following software programs:
o Adobe Captivate
o Camtasia Studios
o Screencast-O-Matic
o Powerpoint
Appointment:
· Spring 2019 & Fall 2019
· 15 weeks
· 14 hours per week
Compensation: $15 p/h
