    Hi all,

The Career Center is offering an excellent opportunity to meet employers and learn more about working in the Public Policy sector. I encourage you to consider attending if you\’re interested in careers in public policy, research, or civil service.

    Best,

    Lisa

Graduate Center Public Policy Career Fair.

    Date: Monday, October 22, 2018, 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Location: The Graduate Center, 34th Street and 5th Avenue, New York, NY, C-level

    Register: https://goo.gl/forms/7kx7LUMRLApQrOB73

Our Fall 2018 career fair connects our doctoral and master’s degree graduate students with employers in government, non-profit, and policy sectors. The fair will feature both a traditional career fair with employers standing at tables talking to students, as well as presentations from individual employers.

From 2:30-3:30 p.m., the Department of Citywide Administrative Services will present on the civil service exam, which is now necessary for many, if not most, types of positions with NYC government. The presentation will be tailored to the types of roles typically sought by graduate students.

If you have any interest in the following issues, we strongly recommend that you attend the Public Policy Career Fair and speak with employer representatives from the relevant organizations.

The justice system and protection of civil liberties (Center for Court Innovation, NYC Department of Investigation’s Inspector General for the NYPD, Vera Institute of Justice)
Gender equality (Center for Reproductive Rights, UN Women Research and Data)
Environmental sustainability (NYC Mayor’s Office of Sustainability, NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies)
Drug policy reform (Drug Policy Alliance)
Quality of life for the economically disenfranchised (MDRC, Educational Alliance)
Policy legislation at the state level (Excelsior Service Fellowship Program, New York State Assembly Internships, New York State Senate Graduate Fellowships)
