I am forwarding this e-mail from the American Psychological Foundation announcing a research fellowship opportunity for your students. The program awards $10,000 to support the student’s research in the area of disability. During my time as chair of the APA committee on Disability Issues in Psychology (CDIP), I had the good fortune of working with the APF office and representatives of the family who donated a significant amount of money to this endowment. The family lost their son to suicide subsequent to years of bullying for his disability. It is a very worthy cause ask that you encourage any student who is considering research in the area to apply. Thanks, Randy

Please find attached a Request for Proposals for the American Psychological Foundation’s (APF) 2013 Scott and Paul Pearsall Fellowship, which supports graduate work that seeks to increase the public’s understanding of the psychological pain and stigma experienced by adults with physical disabilities, such as cerebral palsy. The deadline for applications has been extended to December 31, 2013.
Would each of you please disseminate this call far and wide? The deadline was extended because APF only received 2 applications. Please assist in disseminating this call.
    Thank you so much.
    –Mara
