EES 79903 – [58130] Mapping, Knowledge, Power

This seminar will examine the role of mapping and digital spatial representations in production of knowledge and social power. We will read and discuss some seminal works about power of maps as well as survey the latest developments in critical cartography and GIS, feminist and qualitative GIS, and critical computation. Students should have at least one GIS course in order to participate in this seminar.
