Dear GIS / Mapping Working Group,

I have some news: Jan 31st will be my final day as Geospatial Data Librarian at Baruch. On Feb 1st, I will be the new GIS and Data Librarian at Brown University in Providence, RI. The Baruch library is going to fill the position, but it will take some time and the lab will remain closed. In the meantime, the resources the lab produced and published on the Baruch Geoportal will continue to be available.

My Baruch email “should” remain active for another month. If you would like to stay in touch, my new info will appear relatively soon on Brown’s library specialists page.

I have enjoyed working with all of you, and serving the CUNY GIS community these past 13 1/2 years. I wish you all the best in the coming year.

    Warmest regards,

    Frank Donnelly

    Dear Frank,

Wow — CUNY’s loss is Brown’s gain. It’s good to hear that Baruch will fill
    the position.

Thank you so much for all of the amazing work you’ve done over so many
years to build geospatial programming across the CUNY system. Having taken
one of your classes myself, I’m keenly aware of how much brought to the
educational experiences you shared with CUNY faculty, staff, and students.
We are in your debt! Best of luck to you with this next step.

    best,

    Matt

Wow Frank, congratulations!! That is great news, and though I’m sorry that
CUNY will see you go, I look forward to learning about your new projects at
Brown, and I hope we stay in touch!

    Best,

    Javier

Frank, thank you so much for all you have done for us. And best wishes for an equally brilliant next stage up at Brown.  My pal and co-author John Logan has done a great many interesting projects that will only benefit from your talents.  Regards, John

Thank you everyone! As long as my commons account doesn’t go away, I’ll continue to be a member of this group 🙂
