Sara Deniz Akant researches 20th c. poetics, with a focus on race, gender & empire. She is the author of a book of poems, Babette (2015), as well as the chapbooks Parades (2014), and Latronic Strag (2015). She has taught writing at Baruch, Medgar Evers, John Jay, and Hunter College, and runs the GC Poetics Group with friends.
