Allison Guess

Allison Guess is a PhD Student in the program of Earth and Environmental Sciences at the Graduate Center at CUNY.

Allison is a PhD student in the program of Earth and Environmental Sciences (Geography) at the Graduate Center. Her research is a contextual historiography of the deliberate Black land formations and Black people’s relationships to those lands and places in the 16th century as it relates to the Black radical tradition. More broadly, Allison is interested in Black/indigenous self-determination, liberation and Black people’s return to the land (voluntary reverse migrations) and in particular the movement of Black people in what is currently the U.S., moving south and eastward both historically and in the present.
