Position Description:
The Tools for Clear Speech (TfCS) program at Baruch College is hiring a part-time Web Developer through June 2016.
Baruch College’s Tools for Clear Speech program (TfCS) improves the intelligibility, fluency, and pragmatic ability of English Language Learners and nonnative English speakers at the College. In addition to offering a suite of integrated face-to-face instructional services, TfCS has developed innovative online distance learning platforms that enable valid assessment, trackable progress, and more effective practice between face-to-face instruction.
The TfCS Web Developer will work with the program director and curriculum specialists to enhance TfCS To-Go, the program’s online site for distance learning instruction, which is hosted on a WordPress platform. Projects include:
· building an interactive, mobile-ready HTML5 application for existing text and video assets;
· developing or adapting an interface for audio recording and playback to be embedded in our WordPress site.
Required Qualifications:
Candidates should be able to demonstrate extensive experience with and knowledge of the following: HTML5, CSS, Javascript, PHP, jQuery, and/or related skills/programming languages. Experience in WordPress platforms preferred. Preference will also go to candidates who have experience with educational technology development.
Compensation:
$6,000
Contracted appointments will begin ASAP and end by June 30, 2016.
