This spring, our seminar will focus on an exploration of “brain-based” or cognitive science approaches to teaching and learning. Through reading and discussing Daniel T. Willingham’s Why Don’t Students Like to Learn?, we will identify objectives for improving our own teaching and learning as individuals and peers. We will begin to design activities to meet these objectives and to think about ways of assessing our teaching and learning over the next few years.
