    OA supporters:

LACUNY SCRT has been working with the METRO Open SIG to pull together a webinar series on global OA issues, and we had the opportunity to get a couple of great guest speakers as part of the Latin American Studies Association meetings taking place here in NYC at the end of the month.

Dr. Dominique Babini & Dr. Arianna Becerril will talk about the new partnership between CLACSO and Redalyc.org (www.clacso.redalyc.org) to further efforts to bring Latin American OA resources together. They are speaking to us via Webinar, but we thought it would be nice to have an in-person meeting and be able to have a discussion, and perhaps some tea, wine, beverage and snack of choice.

We hope you can join us in person! If you wish to join via webinar, there are limited “seats” so be sure to register for either in-person or webinar.

Open Access in Latin America & the Case of CLACSO-REDALYC Tue, May. 31, 2016
    4 p.m. – 6 p.m. America/New York

DOAJ’s blog has this interesting guest post on the challenges of OA publishing in Latin America: https://doajournals.wordpress.com/2017/01/17/challenges-of-the-latin-american-open-access-publishing-model/
