CUNY Academic Works: Put Your Assumptions on Trial
…in an actual (make believe) court room!

Where: Bronx Community College Law Library & Courtroom
    When: Friday, March 25th 2 – 4PM
    RSVP Required: http://goo.gl/forms/KyVcJhZLOF

We’re librarians! We know all about institutional repositories, CUNY Academic Works, and open access … Or do we?! Do you ever wish you could test your own assumptions in a safe space? Hone your answers to faculty questions? Or even play the role of the recalcitrant faculty member?

Join the LACUNY Scholarly Communications Roundtable for an active and informative session as we put our assumptions about Academic Works and open access on trial. Learn common myths and false assumptions, as well as how to address them. No experience necessary.

    The afternoon will include:
    • A stump the expert round – step up to cross examine our expert witnesses or observe the trial as an engaged citizen.
    • Small groups/paired discussions to test the evidence, identify falsities, and grey areas.

As if the afternoon weren’t exciting enough, Academic Works is celebrating its first anniversary so there will be festive refreshments to honor our growing repository (try getting that at City Court!) We need your vote to help determine the verdict: not guilty, guilty as charged, or is the jury still out? Looking forward to seeing you all there!
