There are four Awesome demos:
1) The Radix Endeavor, an MMO that teaches high school math and science concepts. #Radix is aligned to Common Core and Next Generation standards and is coupled with a robust teacher support site to make implementation easy. Presented by Deidre Witan (@deidre_witan) a recent graduate of the Harvard Graduate School of Education and co-founder of PB&Games (@pbngames). See her work at http://www.deidrewitan.com
2) Gamestar Mechanic, a game that teaches kids how to make their own games. In Gamestar Mechanic, kids learn about the foundations of game design by playing, designing, and sharing their own games, made in a robust drag-and-drop environment that requires no coding. Presented by Katya Hott, the lead learning designer on Gamestar Mechanic, a fantastic learning tool produced by E-Line Media. Katya formerly taught ESL and she is passionate about designing digital learning experiences that help kids and teachers use games effectively in educational environments.
3) Beta is a game that teaches game design, computer programming and analytical thinking. Beta teaches programming in CodePop, a tweet-sized programming language. Creator and presenter Errol King is a creative technologist, educator and social entrepreneur.
4) DestinyQuest Infinite (destinyquestinfinite.com) is a digital work that combines reading and playing games in a fast-paced fantasy novel. DQI is not an educational tool; rather, it’s a fun mix of book and game designed to appeal to a different kind of reader. In addition, we’ve been building an engine that will let teachers and students create interactive stories like DQI. Presented by Chris Liu, software developer and founder of Adventure Cow (@adventurecow)
