The Sociology Department at Hunter College is hosting a seminar series this year featuring research that seeks to address the implications of digital media for social interaction and organization. Talks will address a wide range of substantive topics, from evolving interactional norms in the era of the mobile phone, to the use of social media by the Occupy movement.

All of our meetings will be open to the public. More information about the program can be found at http://digitalagesociology.wordpress.com. Members of the CUNY community who are interested in attending should contact Mike Owen Benediktsson and Bradly Kingston at hunterdigitalsociology@gmail.com.

This looks like an awesome series! Congrats.

In the future, you may want to save money and keep your site local on the CUNY Academic Commons or OpenCuny. It’s a great site that both would promote.

Good luck w your series! And please use the A/V livestream capabilities and announce livestreaming when available. I and many others would surely tune in.

    Hi Mike,

If you’re interested in streaming the series on the Commons, we can chat about how you might use http://cuny.is/live which was used by Jen Jack last semester.

We’d love to see the event live on the Commons.

Cool! Let’s make it happen. Happy to chat about how it all works. It’s really not a heavy tech lift. A couple of tests and you’re on your way.
