Subject: [DHSI] UNRH hosts Undergraduate DH Symposium // CFP available!
    To: “institute@lists.uvic.ca” <institute@lists.uvic.ca>

My name is Andrew Rikard. I’m both a junior at Davidson College and a
graduate of Ian Gregory’s marvelous DHSI GIS course. I’m also a founding
member of the Undergraduate Network for Research in the Humanities (UNRH
    http://www.unrh.org . While at DHSI 2015, I had a series of conversations
with other undergrads talking about putting on a conference or starting a
journal to promote undergraduate agency/research. The idea took shape on
    Canadian soil.

While at the Institute for Liberal Arts Digital Scholarship (IliADS
http://iliads.org/ ) conference at Hamilton College in July 2015, I and
six other students decided we should take this idea and run with it, so we
started an organization and set a date for a conference. We needed a place,
time, and platform to discuss our experiences as undergraduate researchers
as well as present our own, original research.

On *November 6th-8th, 2015 *at* Davidson College in Davidson, North
Carolina* we will gather to present our work and once again sit in a room
to discuss the future of undergraduate research in the Humanities (I
suppose I could say Digital Humanities, but we plan to stick around until
    Digital Humanities is simply Humanities).

We are NOW accepting proposals from undergraduates, and we encourage you to
share this opportunity with your students involved in Digital Humanities
research and projects. Please also let us know if a) this conference is of
interest to your institution and b) your institution can financially commit
to sending students if selected to present.

Go to http://unrh.org/submit/cfp to find the CFP.
There is no application fee. Note that the application is ONLY available
online and is due September 20th. The selection process is competitive.
Please email me at anrikard@davidson.edu if you have questions or would
    like to discuss UNRH.

Please do tweet @un4rh and @anrikard

    Forward this email to students!

    Sincerely,
    Andrew Rikard, ’17 Davidson College
