Please see this CFP for a panel on Digital Humanities and Medieval Italy [the new deadline is Oct 1].
—————
I would very much welcome submissions for the panel that I am organizing for the 2017 International Congress on Medieval Studies in Kalamazoo. Please see the panel description below.
A Panel Discussion on Digital Humanities and Medieval Italy
This panel proposes to explore developing and newly developed digital projects that provide innovative points of access to research and pedagogical resources for the field of medieval Italian studies. Particular focus on visualizations would be welcome, including the digitization of manuscripts and illustrations, novel tools and techniques for the visualization and collection of research data, and enhanced digital editions of works like Dante’s Commedia and Petrarch’s Canzoniere that provide unique visual and material perspectives on these canonical texts. This forum will aim to show how medieval studies centered on Italy can rise to the moment in embracing technological resources and collaboration between scholars, libraries, and institutions and craft projects that can spread far and wide to a new generational audience.
Please send an abstract of 250 words by September 15 to akumar29@ucsc.edu
