The New York Public Library (NYPL) seeks a department coordinator to help manage the day-to-day operations of its fast-paced digitization and library innovation program, NYPL Labs. Reporting to the Director of NYPL Labs, the Department Coordinator will oversee the budgetary, logistical, and administrative workflows of this 30+ person department, providing support to unit managers, and assisting with various communications tasks, internal and external. The Department Coordinator will also play a key supporting role in NYPL Labs’ public outreach program, helping to produce events and activities which engage digital practitioners in the use and co-creation of library tools and resources. This position provides an outstanding opportunity for anyone interested in gaining firsthand experience in the work of digitization, metadata production, product development, digital R&D, and public engagement in one of the world’s great cultural institutions.
