Hi All,
The call below just came in from Amanda Hickman, who taught the DH Praxis course in MALS last Spring. Please share broadly
Best,
Luke
We’ve begun our search for the next cohort of fellows at BuzzFeed Open Lab for Journalism,Technology, and the Arts. Year-long fellowships start in October and pay $100,000. Can you help get the word out to potential fellows?
The full call is at: http://www.buzzfeed.com/amandahickman/join-buzzfeed-open-lab
We’re looking for smart, creative people who want to make things that help us tell stories and gather information in new ways. Current fellows are exploring storytelling in 360-degree video and virtual reality, prototyping tools to capture signals we emit from our phones and ubiquitous RFID cards and display them back at us, building really smart games about campaign contributions and influence, and deploying little pucks that tweet out when cars hit particular potholes.
We’re looking for impractical proposals with practical implications.
We have a nice mix of hardware folks and software folks, fellows who identify first as artists and fellows who identify first as programmers. The mix has been great and I’ve been super impressed with the collaborations that current fellows have come up with.
I’d love your help getting the word out to folks who would make great additions to the lab. The next cohort will start in October 2016. We’re taking applications now.
Thanks!
Amanda
